Everyone asks me the same questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow can I get a job like yours?\u201d
\u201cYou\u2019re so lucky.\u201d
\u201cIt must have fallen from the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And every time I hear that, I think the same thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing about my career fell from the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What people see today is the result of years of starting from zero\u2014and being willing to do the work most people don\u2019t want to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I Didn\u2019t Arrive Knowing Everything<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I arrived in Europe, I didn\u2019t know how to do everything.
I didn\u2019t even know how to iron properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my first household, my employer noticed it immediately. Instead of criticizing me, he did something that changed my mindset forever: he hired professional ironers to teach me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That moment stayed with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it showed me something essential\u2014this work isn\u2019t about pretending you know everything.
It\u2019s about being open to learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, ironing is something I genuinely enjoy.
Back then, it was simply another skill I had to build from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cleaning Floors and Changing Diapers Was Part of the Journey<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, I cleaned floors.
Yes, I changed diapers.
Yes, I earned a minimum salary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I never felt above it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t enter high-level environments without first understanding responsibility, routine, and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn\u2019t come to Europe expecting to work with footballers.
That came much later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before that, I worked for families who taught me structure, respect, and emotional control. One of them was a well-known political figure in Spain at the time. From that household, I learned far more than domestic skills\u2014I learned how high-level personalities think, behave, and manage pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those lessons were priceless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Person You Are at the Beginning Is Not Ready for the Top<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is something many people don\u2019t like to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The version of me who arrived in Europe over twenty years ago could not do the work I do today.
She didn\u2019t have the flexibility.
She didn\u2019t have the emotional intelligence.
She didn\u2019t have the adaptability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those qualities come with time, mistakes, and lived experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I made errors.
I mismanaged money.
I had moments of immaturity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I never stopped investing in my growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Experience doesn\u2019t arrive overnight.
It shapes you slowly\u2014if you allow it to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Initiative Is Not Requested. It Is Expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a big difference between someone who is simply present and someone who truly supports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A real personal assistant doesn\u2019t wait to be told what to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t wait for someone to say, \u201cCan you clean?\u201d
You don\u2019t wait for instructions to show care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If I see a new mother\u2014breastfeeding, exhausted, alone in a new city, without family support\u2014I don\u2019t need to be asked.
If I notice someone unwell, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained, I act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I ask:
\u201cWould you like a coffee?\u201d
\u201cCan I make you some tea?\u201d
\u201cDo you need anything right now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When my client\u2019s partner has been sick, I\u2019ve never hesitated. I prepare what\u2019s needed and bring it upstairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not because it\u2019s written in a job description\u2014but because that is what real support looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Initiative is one of the most important skills in this profession.
And it cannot be learned from theory alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Work Is Not About Tasks. It\u2019s About Awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being a personal assistant isn\u2019t about luxury travel or appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s about reading the room.
Understanding emotional states.
Anticipating needs before they become requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t earn trust by doing only what\u2019s expected.
You earn it by doing what\u2019s needed\u2014especially when no one is watching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is why high-level clients are selective.
And that is why this work cannot be improvised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing About This Career Is Random<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t wake up one day and decide to work with high-profile clients or footballers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Life doesn\u2019t hire you like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are prepared through years of process:
learning discipline,
learning empathy,
learning initiative,
learning humility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only after that does trust appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And trust\u2014not ambition\u2014is what opens doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Final Thought<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you want a job like mine, ask yourself this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Are you willing to start from zero?
Are you willing to learn what you don\u2019t know?
Are you willing to help without being asked?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because this work isn\u2019t about status.
It\u2019s about presence, awareness, and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s why nothing about my career fell from the sky.
It was built\u2014quietly, patiently, and with purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
