Instagram shows airports, suitcases, pretty caf\u00e9s, and curated dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But almost no one talks about the emotional reality behind emigrating:
the loneliness, the fear, the responsibility, and the deep transformation it demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I know this story, because it\u2019s mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I left home at eighteen.
I had never cooked, never cleaned, never lived alone.

People often say: But they don\u2019t understand the responsibility behind taking care of someone else\u2019s child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being a nanny is not:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being a nanny (a real one) is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n A nanny isn\u2019t simply hired \u2014 she is trusted<\/strong>. People assume I reached high-profile families by luck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I got there because every family made me better. I didn\u2019t build a job.
